While I have some down time I’ve decided to work on vanilla HTML and CSS. Sometimes when not working with it and focusing on more full stack projects you can get rusty. The project I’m workign on is inspired by the Netflix tv series Tiger King. It’s a landing page for the series where users can watch the trailer, see some images, have quotes from the show generated to them, and get a full list of the episodes.
Working and always adding to my Web Developer portoflio, I thought of a new idea for it. I was going to make a edit page so a user can change certain styles of site. The idea was to have buttons that a user can click to make said changes. In my container component for the edit page I wrote in this:
During my job search I’ve been using the resume instructions and template given to me during my time at Flatiron. No luck with the job search so far, I’ve decided to update my resume. I HATE google docs for resume building which was the platform I was instructed to use. So I’ve thrown that way of making one into the trash. My resume seemed a bit dull and like every other Flatiron grads (all my classmates used it, I’ve seen it on peoples linkedins that were Flatiron Alums). I decided to use the canva platform for a few reasons.
As my career search progressed I have been applying to many of jobs. I’ve realized as I’ve been pplying that certain key job titles are what I’m finding myself attracted to. “Junior Web Developer”, “Junior Software Engineer”, “Web Developer”, “React Developer” are just a few ones I’ve noticed. Obviously, these jobs invovle what I’ve learned throughout my time at Flatiron School. With jobs being so competetive espicially in the NY area, it’s hard for someone like me to get one. Not having the necessary skills to do the job but not htave the expierence like a great deal of other people have hinders my ability to stand out in these hyper competetive big name jobs. However, what about jobs that don’t fully require React or are heavy in fullstack? Their are jobs out there that use all the skills I’ve learned but don’t necessairly have similar titles when you type them into google.
Now that my most recent project Retro Pad has been completed. I’m looking into exactly what I’d love to do next. A part of my wants to jump right back into React. However, I believe I should do one of two things.
