After taking a short project break, I’ve decided to keep working and get it done ASAP. In my app the address book is completley done. Users can create, view, and delete addresses. The next process I’m going through is the memos. Users should have the ability to jot done memos in a note pad. It will be very similar to addresses as it will have all the similar functions. The structure of the files will be set up similar as well as the code itself. However, different key words and different UX of memos is very important.
To take a break from my portoflio I’ve decided to make a new project. Retro Pilot is a clone of a palm pilot with all the usual features. Address book, memo, to do list, weather, calculator etc. It’s going to implment React Hooks instead of traditional components. The reason why I’ve decided to go with hooks and not React/Redux is to get practice with hooks.
I have a full functional created portoflio with Wordpress. However, I wanted to challenge my self further and incorporate animation and have more control of a personalized theme that really represents me. That’s why I’ve decided to make one from scratch.
This week I’ve decided to do two things. First was to pretty up any exsisting project. I would then start creating a professional portfolio to go along with my projects, resume etc.
Wanting to focus on another project and keep my skills up to date, I decided to tackle React Hooks. Being less than a year old I thought it would be something new and interesting to try and would also look good during any interviews, projects etc. We didn’t get to learn it through Flatiron due to the cirriclum not being updated with it. So I figured i’d better learn it independetly.
