Flat Iron

The Career Journey Start!

Now that the course is over, I have graduated, and my resume, portfolio, etc. is all up and running. I can officially start the search for my new career. Both the Mock Cultural and Mock Technical interviews I did with Flatiron were fantastic. Both gave me a bit of insight of what I should expect and what I should practice during this process.

React-Redux Portfolio Project

My final projcect has finally come to an end. Well, actually the whole course has! It has come a bitter-sweet end. I’ve never been one for schooling.. So being able to accomplish such a difficult task of completing the course and balance school / work-life has been very rewarding. What really helped me get through this final stretch was the React-Redux curriculum course.

React Curriculum - final thoughts

It’s crazy to think that I have exactly one week left of actual learning. Once Redux is complete it’s off to my project / review. Knowing this it’s got me thinking of the project and how my React lesson went.

JavaScript and Rails API project post -debrief

Yup I’ve completed my project… It meets the requirements and does what it needs to do in some ways elegantly and in some ways like if you tried to fix a rocket ship with duct-tape. The rocket ship will still work… It was just fixed very odd way.

Javascript and Rails pre - project debrief

I’ve done it! I’ve completed the Javascript and Rails part of the curiculum. This section of the course was not only fun but challenging in many ways. Coming from a person who has never been in contact with JavasScript besides some research I had done online before enrolling in FlatIron, I’m going to just touch base on a few topics I thought were not only entertaining but informative.
